Amirah Muhammad, also known as amirahrashidah, is a music advocate, blogger and curator. Her love for music, a decade-long relationship with blogging, her creative music background, and thirst for knowledge about the music industry encouraged Amirah to launch Transcending Sound in 2015.
She has used her continued passion for and growing knowledge of the arts, the law, and African-American community development to discuss the music industry and culture as it relates to Black and urban music creatives in hip-hop, R&B, and jazz. Her hopes are to inspire those creatives to create conscious, authentic art and to be better informed as they take their music into the industry. Amirah plans to attend law school in the future.
