#PressPlay | Transcending Sound's Fall 2022 Playlist (+ Year Recap)
Y’all, we made it through 2022!
We made it to the end of the year! I hope all of you are in good health (in all the ways) and positive spirit.
It’s been quiet over here, I know…and I have 2 reasons for it: I’ve been living life (while finding bae in the process!) and I’m plotting and planning on the next moves for the next few years for Transcending Sound. I love creating playlists, but I’m working towards doing what I really want to do, which is assisting and encouraging artists on their creative journeys. My hope is that you’ll see some of that plotting and planning come into fruition in 2023.
I definitely want to take a quick moment to talk about how important of a year it has been for Transcending Sound. The site turned 7 in June and we had an anniversary event, #Proud2Pay, on the blog’s Instagram Live with a select few people in attendance. Yes, I (amirahrashidah, the EIC) was singing! I only expected to raise $300 to put this event on, but crowdfunding brought in almost 3 times that amount for Transcending Sound’s first event! Shout out to B. Willow for letting us use their space, to Briley Harris and Neon June of Zoney Sound for the music and audio, to Sydney Allen for coming through in the clutch to photograph the event, and to everyone who donated and pulled up to support virtually and in person. We also officially registered as an LLC around the same time! The growth and love were real this year and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I can’t wait to see what 2023 brings toTS and I’m super excited to see where everything goes from here! But, before we end this year out, I have to give you our 8th fall playlist over here on Transcending Sound! It’s mostly slow singing, flower bringing, and (some possible) baby making songs on this one-hour playlist. There’s some old and newer songs of mostly R&B (because that’s my jam) and a splash of jazz, alternative and hip-hop as well. For those that like a mood, I’d suggest playing this at home for the night with a candle burning or on an evening or night drive. Songs from Ari Lennox, Robert Glasper, Kenyon Dixon, Lucky Daye, Alex Isley and more will set a vibe for these chilly evenings…and I hope you’re enjoying it with a lover!
