Press Play | Transcending Sound's Spring and Summer 2021 Playlist

It’s been a while since I posted a playlist, so this one is a two in one! My bad, y’all. Life’s been happening.

I hope that when you listen to this playlist, that you’re traveling or that you’re enjoying time with loved ones. Some of these songs are really nice travel songs (or “inspiration to travel” songs). Some are just smooth vibes. There’s even some dance joints, and just some songs to get hype to and blast out of your car at ignorant levels. It’s a mixture of all of those feelings — balance, right? (This playlist has a lot of cursing in it, so I don’t suggest playing it around the babies.)

Sprinkled through the playlist are artists included more than once: Lucky Daye, Alex Isley and Masego (who are on a song together), as well as Amorphous (I adore him!) and Baltimore producer Mighty Mark. Speaking of Baltimore creatives, I made sure to include Baltimore in this playlist via Rae the Conjurer, Beth Banger, Miss Kam, and YTK. Wizkid and throwbacks from Beenie Man, Amerie, and Method Man and Redman were included, along with Kendrick Lamar and DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince (to celebrate 10 years of Section.80 and 30 years of Summertime). Oh, and I included former Baltimore Ravens and current Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end, Jihad Ward (known as Haddy), on it as well. He released a bop last year that felt perfect for this playlist.
