#PressPlay | Transcending Sound's Winter 2022 Playlist

A blend of old and new, Black history from the past and present, and overall vibes.

Peace & blessings, beloveds! Happy New Year and Happy Black History Month!

2022 has been a lot for me. The virus had your girl struggling not long after the new year and I’m just starting to feel normal again. I was so out of it, y’all. But, I’m still here, still standing, and ready to give y’all some new thangs this year!

My intention with all of my playlists is to, of course, give you something that feels good — because love is liberation. However, I also make sure to honor the past and present of Black music in hip-hop, R&B and jazz, whether it’s something we all know, something that’s brand new, or music created by somebody from the hometown (hey Baltimore!).

With this playlist, I have a little bit of a lot of vibes. There’s some old jams honoring anniversaries of albums (Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Camp Lo), some throwback slow jams if you need a vibe or 2 for Valentine’s Day (Tony! Toni! Toné!, Maxwell, Lauryn Hill), some songs that aren’t new but are still great (Laurin Talese, MMYYKK), some newer jams (Muni Long, Lucky Daye), and more.

You can find the playlists over on Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal. Feel free to throw it on shuffle or play it straight through, and if you’re feeling it, share it with someone. Click the links below to listen:
